Deen, a family-owned retailer has its home base in the Noord-Holland. Deen owns 56 stores, and is one of the smaller, flexible, and consumer oriented retailers. Deen is a member of the buying co-operative Superunie, which has a shares buying power of 30% of the total Dutch food retail market. DEEN employs around 5,000 people. www.deen.nl.

HEMA

HEMA (originally an acronym for Hollandse Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam, "Dutch Standard Prices Company Amsterdam") is a Dutch department store chain. It is part of Lion Capital LLP. The chain is characterized by relative low pricing of generic housewares, which are mostly made by and for the chain itself. Locations carry a wide variety of goods, including clothing, an increase range of food items, bicycle equipment, gardening tools, and office supplies. Since the 1990s, HEMA has also expanded into neighboring countries.
