Allan Lim leads the Open Innovation Department at Nestlé R&D Center, which is responsible for cross-category innovation through design thinking and external partnerships in Southeast Asia. Allan started his career in Nestlé as a chemist in 1995 after graduating with PhD from the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. In 2008, Allan pioneered corporate innovation partnership in Asia Pacific, which led to the strategic partnership between Nestlé and A*STAR in 2014, focusing on nutrition, food science, material science and packaging, and advanced manufacturing. Today, Allan and team crowdsource innovative concepts and technologies from regional public research institutes, academia, local enterprises, and start-ups through closed-door sessions and public events.
