Arno Wouters is assistant professor (tenure track, since 2019) in Food Chemistry at the Laboratory of Food Chemistry and Biochemistry at KU Leuven. He participates in teaching several courses in the MSc program in Food Science and Nutrition at KU Leuven. Over the years, he has performed research stays at the University of Leeds (UK, 2016), the University of Guelph (Canada, 2018) and Université Le Mans (France, 2022). He is particularly interested in further exploiting the potential of various plant protein sources for structuring food and is currently developing a research program in this framework. In 2022, he was part of the coordinating team for the successful application of the EU Horizon Europe project ‘HealthFerm’ (2022-2026, 22 partners, total budget € 13 mln). In HealthFerm, Wouters acts as deputy work package leader and task leader.
