Sustainable Process Innovations Track (Track III) Chair

Joshua has an academic background in applied microbiology, analytical chemistry, bioprocess design, and life-cycle assessment, working with both photosynthetic and fermentation systems. This transitioned to working with the brewery and bioethanol industries on process analytical technology, quality control, and bioprocess optimization. At RISE, Research Institute of Sweden, he now works as a researcher and project leader covering topics such as protein ingredient manufacturing and biochemistry, functional ingredients production, microbial production and associated downstream processes, and extraction and separation technologies.

Presentation Description

The Aims of the Sustainable Process Innovations Track are to create shared visions on:

1. How relevant for developing new process technologies are themes like Affordability, Healthy Diets & Nutrition, Delicious Foods, and Sustainability?

2. How does the world of novel food processing technologies look like? What can we expect in the coming years?

3. Which key new technologies will emerge and how can the value chain tap into these opportunites?

4. Which new crops will be relevant?

5. What is the agenda of the Global Plant-Based Foods & Proteins EcoSystem? How can you tap into these EcoSystems?
